Wolf Mountain Drive Details

The May 2025 Mountain Drive will bring us one more time to the North Georgia Mountains. We have received an invitation from Karl Boegner, founder and owner of Wolf Mountain Vineyards, about 15 minutes north of Dahlonega.

Besides his wine, Karl is a Mercedes-Benz car enthusiast and a member of the Peachtree Chapter of the Mercedes Club of America as well. Through the years he has amassed an impressive collection of cars. We will leave out the details for now so that you can find out for yourself what treasures Karl has parked in his garage (and it's not a two car garage we are talking about ). He has invited us to see his collection, followed by wine tasting and lunch. In the tasting room you will have the chance to buy another glass or two of wine or a bottle to take it home and share it with your loved ones.

We will start our tour on Saturday May 10th 2025, gathering starting at My Mercedes and Bimmer Place, (4345 GA-400, Cumming, GA 30028) at 8:30 am with breakfast, which will be arranged by Adrianne Sharpe Donahue, Owner.

We will leave not later than 9:30 am for our drive to Wolf Mountain โ€“ 42 miles, one hour drive. As usual, we will not take the shortest way to Wolf Mountain but the most scenic drive. Google Map Route

Karl will open his garage at 11:00 am, with hidden gems waiting behind the door.

Pretty sure everybody will be hungry and thirsty after the tour.  Wine tasting, appetizers, and Flat Bread Pizzas will be served after the tour.  Cost for lunch will be $53/per person.

We will leave Wolf Mountain at 2:30 pm heading to Dahlonega.

Did you know? Dahlonega is the best hallmark Christmas town and had the first big gold rush in the United States? You can learn more about these and other facts during a guided City tour in Dahlonega. Unfortunately, Peachtree Past President and Mercedes -Benz Club of America member and mayor of Dahlonega, JoAnne Taylor is out of town, but tourist director Sam McDuffie will show us his Dahlonega.

Meeting Point is the Parking place at the University of North Georgia (UNG), L15 Visitor Parking 82 College Cir, Dahlonega, GA 30597 (enter from S. Chestatee St (south side of Historic Square). There are spots outside, if they are occupied, please use the parking garage. Parking is free.

The tour will end with a visit at the Gold Rush Museum downtown Dahlonega. Admission is $8.50 and can be paid on site.
