A wine-tasting tour designed to delight both drivers and passengers with fine roads, fine food, very fine wine, and great scenery.
Our itinerary
Start 10:00 a.m. simultaneously from Chemainus (North) and Mill Bay (South):
- From Chemainus at the big "mosaic" sign on Bare Point Road on the north side of the Best Western Plus Chemainus Inn, 9573 Chemainus Road, Chemainus.
- From Mill Bay at Rusticana Coffee, 803 Deloume Road, Mill Bay.
10:00 a.m. A pleasant 30-minute drive on country roads to gather together for an early al fresco lunch on the patio at Grove Hall Farm's Italian Kitchen & Deli at 6159 Lakes Road just east of Duncan, BC.
11:00 a.m. A special Italian "early lunch" menu, just for you. They are also closing to the general public until 12:00 for our event. They will have a few special options just for us: Charcuterie boxes, Italian Paninis, salad, pizza by the slice, and their usual desserts (gelatos!!), cold drinks and a coffee bar. Their full pizza menu can also be made to order.
12:15 p.m. Alderlea Vineyards, "by appointment only". Wine tasting is limited to 20 tasters. No limit for non-taster participants.
1:30 p.m. a great 45-minute drive between vineyards, with an "observer" test.
2:15 p.m. Emandare Vineyard, "by appointment only".
end 3:45 pm at Best Western's Cowichan Valley Inn, CVI Restaurant and Lounge, on Highway #1, for the awarding of observer bragging rights and prizes, as well as last chats and any refreshments you may want before heading home.
