Join your fellow Virginia Chapter members for a "Morning at the Mariner's". We will enjoy a professionally-guided tour through the museum, witnessing this world-class collection of maritime items and history, including the historic remains of the ironclad USS Monitor. Join us for a great day at this national treasure. Like most of our events, we'll feed ourselves afterward at "Harpoon Larry's" (1:00pm) nearby in Newport News.
Itinerary:
- 10:00-12:30pm - Meet at 10:00 AM in the main entrance to The Mariners' Museum for a docent guided tour of the museum. The cost for a Docent Guided Tour is $2.50 per person with a MAXIMUM of 20 people. 100 Museum Drive, Newport News, VA 23606
- 1:00pm - Lunch at "Harpoon Larry's". 621 J. Clyde Morris Blvd. Newport News, VA 23601.
- Harpoon Larry's Fish House & Oyster Bar is a family-owned and operated restaurant that first opened it's doors in 1991. They specialize in fresh, local seafood delivered straight to our back door. Everything on their menu is made in-house from the cocktail sauce to desserts. Their oyster list showcases eclectic selections from Canada, the East and West coasts, and a wide array from the Chesapeake Bay area. They strive to provide the freshest local seafood, service and over all experience to our customers.
